How myrto collects, uses and protects information when you look up vehicle records and use our RTO services. By using myrto, you agree to the practices described here.
01. Information we collect
When you use myrto, we may collect the following:
- Search inputs — the vehicle registration numbers and queries you enter.
- Account details — if you register: name, email and phone number.
- Device & log data — IP address, device model, OS and app version, crash logs, and the date/time of your use.
- Usage data — features used, pages viewed and interactions, to improve the service.
- Payment information — processed by secure third-party gateways for challan payments and insurance. We do not store full card details.
- Documents you store — RC, insurance, PUC and licence you choose to add to your Garage / GloveBox, including via DigiLocker.
02. How we use it
We use information to provide vehicle lookups and RTO services; process challan payments and insurance renewals; send the expiry reminders you opt into; secure, troubleshoot and improve the service; respond to your support requests; and meet our legal obligations. We do not use your data for purposes incompatible with those described here without telling you.
03. Where data comes from
Vehicle records shown in myrto are sourced from publicly available government databases, principally the VAHAN / Parivahan portal (vahan.parivahan.gov.in) and DigiLocker.
myrto is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any RTO or government authority. We only display information already available through official sources, and accuracy depends on those sources.
04. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with payment gateways and insurance partners (to complete transactions you request), DigiLocker, and the analytics and infrastructure providers that run our service (such as Google Play Services and Firebase) — and where required by law. These parties are obligated to protect your data and use it only for the task assigned to them.
05. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand how the service is used. Cookies are small identifier files stored by your browser. You can control or clear them through your browser or device settings; disabling some may reduce functionality.
06. Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, after which we delete or anonymise it.
07. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent or opt out of marketing, by writing to help@myrto.in. Note that vehicle records mirror official sources — to correct the underlying record, please approach the relevant RTO or VAHAN; myrto updates automatically once the source changes.
09. Children's privacy
myrto is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date, so please review it periodically.
